Spotlight - Design Thoughts Shoppe (and there is a giveaway!)

DOG the Monster
tiny by design is dedicated to decorating the world for our children.  I am blessed to be in the presence of greatness when it comes to the subject.  A good friend of mine has been keeping her artistic talents a secret...and is now ready to share it with the world!  I hope you enjoy reading about our spotlight artist!

Kim Salter, interior designer and author of Design Thoughts, is launching a line of watercolor paintings for children.  These whimsical pieces are perfectly designed to capture little imaginations. . . and they do so much more than that.

Kim recently opened her Design Thoughts Shoppe (I love it - Shoppe - feels quaint and downtowny).  Inspired by her son and wanting to bring joy to the lives of children, Kim creates these quirky little paintings with so much love.  To top it off, you are not even going to believe her prices.  These paintings are all MADE TO ORDER - in whatever colors you specify.  You can't buy prints for what she is selling these imaginative, custom pieces for. . .

. . . and, if you can believe it, one lucky "souls by design" reader will win a free "Letters" painting from Kim (thank you for generously donating this amazing piece Kim!)  All you have to do is read to the bottom to find out how to enter...and tell all your friends.  The "Letters" painting is truly something special, and will literally go perfectly in any child's space!

read to the end of this post to find out how to enter!

Kim has a fantastic eye for designs, makes each painting to order and customizes colors.  Any painting purchased will match whatever is going on in your little one's space.  To make it even more special, all characters are named by Kim's almost three year old inspiration, Liam.

As you can see by Stix the Fish...Liam has quite an imagination, and no problem coming up with a clever name for each painting.

my personal favs - the monster collection

Rylie Monster - love that the monster is saying "RAAARR!"

Stokes the Monster

Clarke the Monster
I fell so in love with the monster collection that I ordered Stokes (my daughter Oakley), Riley (my son Truman) and Clarke (my dog Vladdie).  They will hang in the bathroom right next to the monster towel collection we already have...can't wait to share pictures of how cute they will be for a kids bathroom.  Since our "kids bathroom" is also our "guest bathroom", these are the ideal decor.  Original paintings that coordinate with our colors AND capture the imagination of our kids...perfection!

numbers and letters

I love Kim's phonetic letter collection!

There are so many more paintings available at Design Thoughts Shoppe.  Kim is always adding new artwork to her collection so check back regularly.  Or better yet, like Kim's facebook page Design Thoughts and/or follow her on twitter @kdesignthoughts for instant updates.
